A POEM by María del Campo

I wish I could fly over the sky, over the rainbow.
I wish I could stay there for good.
I wish all of us could.
However, I wish I could be blind:
Not to see the damage,
not to see people crying,
not to see them dying,..
Not to see what everybody is hiding.
I wish that famous god existed
not only in Bible thumper's mouth...
I wish, at least you believed me,...
It may be a dream, but I like the way it sounds...

El 4 de abril de 1968 a las 18 horas y un minuto, Martin Luther King fue asesinado por un segregacionista blanco en el balcón del Lorraine Motel en Memphis.
