HOW WOULD YOU FEEL?
A) “You are an elderly woman driving a Mercedes through the Australian outback in the middle of nowhere. You realise that one of your tyres is flat. You stop the car and ring for assistance, but there is no cover so you wait inside your car. Suddenly, a Ford pick-up truck pulls up behind you; a large muscular man covered in tattoos gets out of the truck and walks towards you.”
B) “You are a young 8-month pregnant woman who has just arrived at the restaurant where you work as a waitress. You have just received a letter from your landlord informing you that you owe $800 in rent; if you don’t pay this money you will be evicted from your house. You ask your boss for extra work so you can pay the rent, but your boss is really rude to you and refuses to give you any extra work.”

ALCINE FILM FESTIVAL
Alcalá de Henares is hosting a new edition of its short film festival,ALCINE.
The festival has been held since 1983 and has served to launch the careers of some of Spain’s most important directors, such as Alejandro Amenábar, Isabel Coixet and Fernando León de Aranoa. At the same time as the official short film section, there is also a feature film section aimed at new directors. In addition, in order to increase the international presence at the festival, since 2007 there has been an official section for European work.
Especially interesting is the section "Language in Short Film":
The Language in Short program is a program of European short films in original version, dedicated to foreign language students of of Secondary, Baccalaureate or Language Schools. English, French and German are the three blocks of short films that are shown with subtitles in the same language as the original of the short film.
The three short language blocks will be screened at different times mornings and afternoons on November 10, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 23, 2017 at the Teatro Salón Cervantes and Corral de Comedias.
