“If water freezes, it turns to ice.”

2. FIRST CONDITIONAL: If + simple present /  will + bare infinitive
“If it rains, I won’t go to the beach.”

4. THIRD CONDITIONAL: If + had + past participle /  would  have + past participle. (Note: “would” and “have” are often shortened to a contraction, such as I would’ve.)

LEARNING NEW WORDS

When you’re learning a new language it’s really important to keep learning new words to improve your vocabulary. When you learn new words you need to try and use them as soon as you can so they will become part of your active vocabulary. We need to see a new word at least five times before we are able to use it correctly. There are lots of opportunities on THIS WEBSITE to learn new words.

Also, reading and listening to as much English as possible will help to improve your vocabulary.

When you come across a new word you must pay attention to the following:

WHY DO YOU WANT TO LEARN ENGLISH?

- Because I want to get a good job.

- To be able to communicate when I travel.

Can you add more reasons?

Now you are going to watch a video  in which you will see and hear three
students explaining why they are learning English. Try to understand each student’s reason for learning English.

The three learners in the video are asked a second question:
What do you want to after this course/in the future? Try to understand their answers.

LET'S GO!:

Now think about the following questions:

- How will your English have improved after this course?
