BOOK DAY 2014

DID YOU KNOW? in England, to avoid clashing with St. George's Day on 23rd April, World Book Day is celebrated on the first Thursday of March every year.

I think a good way to celebrate it this year is honoring to the recently deceased Gabriel García Márquez.

EARTH DAY: April 22nd

Each year, Earth Day — April 22 — marks the anniversary of what many consider the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970. It aims to inspire awareness of and appreciation for our environment.The fight for a clean environment continues in a climate of increasing urgency, as the ravages of climate change become more manifest every day. I invite you to be a part of Earth Day 2014!

Earth Day Network launched the Green Cities campaign in the fall of 2013 to help cities around the world become more sustainable and reduce their carbon footprint. Focused on three key elements – buildings, energy, and transportation – the campaign aims to help cities accelerate their transition to a cleaner, healthier, and more economically viable future through improvements in efficiency, investments in renewable technology, and regulation reform.
